A 36-year-old man from Detroit was arrested for drunk-driving and fleeing the scene of the accident after hitting a woman while she was crossing 7 Mile Road near Runyon at around 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, November 8. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol causing death and and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to reports.
The authorities said that George McCree did not stop to render assistance to the 48-year-old female victim after he struck her with his vehicle. McCree was arrested after further investigation. He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond with a probable cause hearing set for November 17 and a preliminary exam on November 24.
